Once after she went down to the river together with other ducks， she seemed to remember something and came back climbing up the bank unsteadily。 In a few minutes， she quacked loudly。 For a weasel wandered around recently， I feared she was in trouble， so I decided to help her。 Surprisingly， a new green egg greeted my eyes。
I intended to pat her to show my condolence， but she was not grateful， flapping her wings and screaming loudly， ran a few meters away and then paused， and looked at me in earnest by blinking her eyes。 How loyal my lame duck was！

只鴨子，其中有一隻跛腳！這群鴨子不怎麼下水游泳，總是蹲在岸邊，不知道是不是同情這隻跛腳兄弟，不讓它太費力，因為無論下水還是上岸，它總是不出意料地走在最後。
每次媽媽喂小魚小蝦，小夥伴們一窩蜂地衝過來，它卻顯得有些傲氣，把好的身位讓出來。跛腳儘管吃飯不多，下蛋卻也沒讓著它們，基本每天都能下一個！
有一次，它和夥伴們下水以後，突然似乎想起了什麼，獨自一個蹣跚著爬上岸，返回窩裡，過了幾分鐘便叫嚷起來。最近總是有黃大仙出沒，我以為它遇到了什麼麻煩，過去想幫幫它，卻發現草裡多了一隻綠色的蛋。
我打算撫摸它一下，以示犒勞，它卻撲騰著，大叫著，絲毫不領我的情，跑到不遠處停下來，朝我不停地眨巴眼睛，很認真地看著我。論忠義者，我家跛腳是也！
