put on airs，擺在空氣中？經常看罐頭菌文章的老粉絲應該都會知道，英語經常會像中文一樣，會有一些不能直譯的英語用法（畢竟罐頭菌經常會講解一些俚語以及習語）。今天罐頭菌就來說一下，put on airs以及一些關於air——空氣的相關片語。
1.put on airs 擺架子
相信大部分人都不會知道這個片語的翻譯，其實它是指我們中文常說的“擺架子”。例如經常會有傳聞說某些明星，很喜歡“擺架子”，我們就可以用put on airs來表示。
Stop putting on airs, Mary, you're not some world-class actor.
Mary，別擺架子了，你並不是世界級的演員。
2.（up） in the air 還沒決定，懸而未決
當事情還沒有做出決定的時候，我們就可用（up） in the air來表示。就像決定人還沒有完全拍板，還只是把決定的權利懸吊在空中一樣。
Because the whole town protested plans to build a new shopping center, that proposal is now up in the air.
由於整個城鎮都反對建設新購物中心的計劃，因此這提案還沒有決定下來。
PS：同時還有另一個相似的片語——on the air，經常看影片的小夥伴應該知道這個片語，表示“正在播放，正在直播”的意思。
Please try to control your language, we can't have any cursing while we're on air.
請控制一下你的發言，當我們在直播的時候，不能有任何的髒話。
3.clear the air 清新空氣；消除隔閡
clear the air一般在不同環境能表示兩個不同意思。首先是字面上的意思，“讓空氣變得很清新”，例如說在下雨之後，或者使用空氣清新劑之後，空氣會讓人很清爽。
The rain has helped clear the air.
一場雨下來，讓空氣很清新。
同時，這裡的air也能表示一種“氛圍”，就是當兩人獨處很尷尬的氛圍，而clear the air則能表示讓兩人的“隔閡消除”。
Once we cleared the air, we found that it had just been a simple misunderstanding.
當我們消除隔閡之後，我們發現原來這只是小小的誤會而已。
4.air one's grievances（complaints） 發牢騷，抱怨
air one‘s grievances（complaints），這裡的air是使用了它的動詞意思“表達意見，看法”。
The employees used the meeting to air their grievances about their salaries and working conditions.
僱員在會議上表達出他們對於工資以及工作環境的不滿。
